Shutterfly Photo Book

I received an email from Creating Keepsakes for a free photo book from Shutterfly.  I decided to take advantage of it this time and worked on making a Thanksgiving album for 2008.  It took me all weekend but it is finally done and I am pretty pleased with it.

Click Here to go to my Shutterfly share site and view the book.  Let me know what you think!!!

Motherly Love

I completed this digital layout last night.  I am making a small Christmas album for the kids to have. I about half way done.  I think I am going to post my layouts on this site for now until I figure out what I am going to do with my 'Nat Gets Crafty' site.  Let me know what you think...I never get comments from anyone...except for Becky!!

Pierremont Carnival

Shane had a great time at the end of the year carnival at his new school - Pierremont Elementary. He got to play some games, won a few prizes, and best of all eat treats. He loved his snow cone but ate a bunch of popcorn as well. We got a sneak peek at his kindergarten classroom and some of the assistants. I am looking forward to meeting his homeroom teacher - Mr. Salt.

Shane's End of the Year Party

Shane's class had an end of the year ice cream social yesterday and we all had a great time. Paige and Shane had vanilla ice cream with sprinkles and, yes, both of them had seconds.  We played outside afterwards and Paige wandered everywhere while I was trying to talk to Shane's teachers. Thank goodness it was all fenced in!  Paige and Shane sat in the little red car on the playground so I managed to get a decent picture of them...it is so hard to get them both to look at me at the same time!  I got pictures of Shane's teacher, speech therapist, and classroom TA.  All of them have know Shane for a long time and will miss him greatly.

Paige's Graduation

My little girl graduated last Wednesday from her Kids Day Out program. There was an ice cream social for the parents and students.  We ate vanilla ice cream cups and watched a video of our kids singing, dancing and playing instruments.  Paige got a kick out of watching herself on the television. We received some nice artwork and a photo card with a picture of her class.  So sweet!!!
I am sure you can spot her - she is the one in the middle.  She will be attending 'real' preschool in the fall - 3 days a week!  Yeah for Paige (and Mommy)!!!

Rose Bush

I took dozens of pictures today for my photography assignment and finally came up with these two. Our assignment was to take a fully focused picture (in manual mode) and then another with the background blurred. It is a subtle difference but it's there. They are pretty pictures nonetheless.

Happy Mother's Day

I had a wonderful weekend with my family.  Eddie brought home cupcakes for Jilly's on Friday night and bought me flowers from Trader Joe's on Saturday.  Sunday morning we got dressed and left the house at 7am to go to breakfast (since our kids get up at 5:45am).  We knew that it would be crazy at any restaurant on Sunday morning so we decided to beat the crowds.  Our choice that morning was First Watch - a neat little breakfast/lunch cafe.  After breakfast (it was only 7:45am), we went to Faust Park and did a little park time.  Everything was wet so we didn't stay long but it was nice getting fresh air.  The rest of the day was pretty low key...just my style!

Hamburger Patte

This story just has to be told even though it is quite gross and bizarre.  Paige has a habit of eating and chewing her food and holding on to it for a length of time.  It is almost like she is a little chipmunk storing food for the winter.  She usually does it with grapes but this time she did it with her hamburger.  She seemed to have chewed up her burger but had not swallowed it.  I gave her a few minutes but she started talking while in the bathtub and her meat was still in her mouth.  It had been at least 20 minutes and she was not swallowing her meat.  Jeanette pulled her out of the bathtub and I told her to say "ahh".  I just had to take a picture because it was too funny.  I dried her off and put her pajamas on and it was STILL in her mouth.  Then she sneezed and spit meat all over her bed and floor.  I was totally grossed out.  I took her to the bathroom and tried to dig it out of her mouth...she gave me a fight.  Daddy tried to get it out of her mouth and sort of suceeded.  We gave her water and she finally washed the rest down.  I hope she breaks this bad habit soon!  It is too gross!!

Scrapbook Pages Done

I have worked hard getting more pages done and I thought I would show off a few.  The first two page layout is a dinosaur layout that I did over a year ago at a convention.  I added photos from a zoo day we had with Meemaw last year.  The second two page layout was also done over a year ago and I had a hard time picking out pictures of Paige that portrayed her as a "princess".  Then I remember Paige wearing a foam princess crown on Easter.  She had gotten it in her Easter basket. She wore that crown 2 more times and now it is at the bottom of the toy box.  She just isn't a "girly, girl" yet.  Anyway, I think the pictures worked well in this layout.I will be posting more layouts on my other site:  www.natgetscrafty.blogspot.com.  The link is listed at the right for quick access.  Pssst...I love getting comments...hint, hint!!

"My New Shoes"

Auntie Jeanette took Paige on errands yesterday and bought her a pair of pastel pink crocs. Paige absolutely loves them!  She wore them all over the house this afternoon so I had to take a few cute pics of her to show how cute she is!  I think Paige will definitely be a shoe girl. She gets that from her Auntie.  We took these pictures on the front porch while waiting for Shane's school bus.  It was 80 degrees today!!
